Marijus Piekuras is a renowned Lithuanian painter whose work is rooted in classical tradition and expressive oil painting. Trained in academic techniques and deeply committed to the language of paint, he is also an artist who dares to step beyond the canvas—exploring new forms, scales, and ways of bringing art into everyday life.
In collaboration with Ruty Design, Marijus transforms original oil paintings into intimate, wearable masterpieces. Each piece begins as a hand-painted miniature, created with the same care, depth, and emotion as a gallery work. The finished artworks are then carefully set into refined compositions using natural wood, metal, crystals, and gemstones—resulting in truly one-of-a-kind art objects.
This collaboration holds special meaning for Ruty Design. The Marijus ART × Ruty Design line introduces a unique series of brooches designed specifically to complement our signature Hopper ties. Crafted to attach seamlessly at the knot, these brooches add an artistic accent and a sense of individuality to the wearer.
Versatile by design, each brooch can be detached and worn beyond the tie—on a blazer, coat, dress, or scarf. Designed for both women and men, the pieces adapt effortlessly to personal style and occasion.
